Counting Assignee Changes for an Issue (Assignee Count Data)

πŸ“ Context: The Assignee Count data in the Time in Status app shows how many times an issue has been assigned to a particular assignee during a chosen period. This helps you monitor how often issues move between team members, providing insights into workload distribution and team dynamics.

πŸ€” User Problem: Users need a way to track how many times an issue has been assigned to different team members during a specific period, such as a Sprint, to understand workload distribution and identify potential bottlenecks.

The Assignee Count data shows how many times an issue has been assigned to a particular assignee during a chosen period. So you can monitor how many times an issue has moved from one team member to another (and vice versa) easily.

For example, if you need to know how the number issue has moved to somebody during a Sprint period, you need to:

  1. Choose the Time in Status report. Filter by the Sprint and choose the sprint you need.

Priority β†’ Report Filters

Key β†’ Rows

Assignee β†’ Columns

Choose Count of Time (hours) from the drop-down list in the Values column.

So, you’ll get such a grid with how many times an issue has moved to a particular assignee:

πŸ“ˆ Outcomes:

  • Detailed Analysis: Get a detailed breakdown of how many times an issue has been assigned to each assignee.

  • Workload Distribution: Understand how work is distributed among team members.

  • Identify Bottlenecks: Quickly identify areas where issues are frequently reassigned, indicating potential bottlenecks.

  • Customizable Reports: Tailor reports to specific needs by selecting different fields for rows, columns, and values.
