This page lists the limits that apply to multi-site reports and to the connections they use. Where a workaround exists, it's listed with the limit. For setup steps, see Multi-site reports and Connections.
Rate limits
Atlassian limits the number of API requests each Jira site accepts. For details, see Rate limiting in the Atlassian developer documentation.
-
When a site reaches its limit during a report run, Time in Status retries automatically. If the limit is still reached, the connection shows Rate limit reached and its data is left out of the report.
-
The limit resets every hour.
-
To see data from the sites that loaded, select Continue with {n} connections. A warning icon beside the footer work item count lists the sites that were left out.
-
If every site reached its limit, select Try again after the limit resets.
-
On the Connections page, a rate-limited connection shows Error. Data loads again once the limit clears.
Report features
-
-
Multi-site reports show a table and a pivot table only. Chart view and interval-based reports aren’t available.
-
Multi-site reports aren’t available in dashboard gadgets, Confluence macros, or Rovo skills.
-
Combining data across sites
-
Statuses are matched only by exact name, and differently named statuses aren't mapped automatically. To combine them, create a status group in a Time in status or Status count report.
-
Each connection uses the work schedule set on the sharing site. You can't change it from the report, and you aren't warned when sites use different schedules. Durations from sites with different schedules aren't directly comparable.
Results
-
Results aren’t cached between runs. Each run loads data from every selected site again.
Connections
-
A token works once and expires after 7 days, whichever comes first. A used token can't be reused on any site.
-
Each connection shares data in one direction. To share data both ways, an admin of the other site creates a Share data connection there.
-
On the receiving site, you can't edit a connection's name, data scope, work schedule, or allowed fields. Ask an admin of the sharing site to change them.
