Setting Up Jira Work Item and Email Alerts for Delays Based on Status Transition Times

At the Time Metrics Tracker app, you can set email notifications for work items exceeding the time limits.

  1. To do it, go to the Configuration menu — click the three-dots menu (⋯) and choose Configuration from the dropdown list.

or in the left sidebar, directly under the Time Metrics Tracker section of the app — the Configuration item is displayed in the navigation menu.

2. Select +Time metric or edit the existing one.

3. If you select +Time metric, create a time metric by setting the metric name, Project, Start/Stop/Pause statuses, and a time limit. You can start setting up notifications if you have already done this or are editing the time metric.

You can set email sending to notify people about work items where Warning and Critical time limits are overdue.

When time limits for some work items are exceeded, people who were chosen before will receive a warning email.

At the same time, you will see the comment on the overdue work item panel with a similar warning message.
