Uninstallation usually takes a few seconds.
🔄 How to Reinstall the App
If you need to reinstall the app (e.g., after troubleshooting, incorrect setup, or permission issues), follow these steps:
1. Go to the Azure DevOps Marketplace
Open:
https://marketplace.visualstudio.com/azuredevops
Search for the app you want to reinstall.
2. Open the extension page
For example: Time in State for Azure DevOps
Click Get it Free (or Get if you already purchased a subscription).
3. Choose your Azure DevOps Organization
Select the same organization where the app was previously installed.
Click Install.
4. Approve permissions
Confirm the required permissions requested by the extension.
5. Wait for installation to complete
Installation is automatic and takes around 10–30 seconds.
Once the extension is installed again, you can access it under:
Boards
Project Settings → Extensions
or the specific app section, depending on the tool
🛠 When should you reinstall the app?
Reinstallation is helpful when:
The app does not appear in Boards, Dashboards, or extensions
Reports or widgets are not loading
Permissions were incorrectly configured
Azure DevOps shows an installation error
Metadata or configuration failed to sync
Often, reinstalling refreshes the extension files and reconnects it properly to your organization.
❗ Important Notes
Uninstalling the app does not remove your Azure DevOps data.
After reinstalling, your reports and analytics will continue working normally.
Only Organization Owners or Project Collection Administrators can install or uninstall apps.
